U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has left Israel today (Monday) after concluding a significant visit. During his trip, Rubio met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, and other senior Israeli officials.

The Release of Hostages Is a Moral Obligation

 

During his visit, Rubio emphasized the Trump administration’s unwavering commitment to securing the release of hostages held by Hamas. “President Trump has made it clear that the hostages must be freed, and we are working closely with the Israeli government to ensure that happens—this is a moral obligation,” Rubio stated.

Hamas Cannot Govern Gaza

Rubio further declared, “Hamas cannot continue to rule Gaza—it must be completely eradicated.” He also highlighted the broader regional threat posed by Iran, stating, “Iran is the primary source of instability in the region. It will not achieve nuclear capability—President Trump has been unequivocal on this issue.”

Meeting with Netanyahu: A Harrowing Reminder of October 7

During the meeting between Netanyahu and Rubio, a video documenting the atrocities of Hamas’s October 7 massacre was screened for the Secretary’s delegation. A source present in the room described the reactions as deeply disturbed, as the American officials witnessed the horrors inflicted by Hamas terrorists. Rubio himself had previously viewed the footage during his tenure as a U.S. senator.
