Pro-Israel Senator Lindsey Graham Faces South Carolina Primary

South Carolina Republicans are voting today in a key Senate primary as Lindsey Graham seeks reelection. For many supporters of Israel, Graham remains one of the clearest and most reliable pro-Israel voices in Washington

Republican voters in South Carolina are heading to the polls today in the state’s U.S. Senate primary. Sen. Lindsey Graham, the longtime incumbent, is seeking another term and remains one of the most prominent pro-Israel voices in Washington.

A Key Senate Race

Graham has represented South Carolina in the U.S. Senate since 2003. Before that, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives. He also built a long military record, serving in the U.S. Air Force and later the Air Force Reserve, where he retired as a colonel.

Today, he serves as chairman of the Senate Budget Committee and also sits on major Senate committees that shape national security, spending, and the judiciary. In addition, he is widely known as a close ally of President Donald Trump and carries Trump’s endorsement in this race.

Graham’s Record on Israel

For many Israelis and pro-Israel Americans, Graham is more than just another Republican senator. He has spent years backing a strong U.S.-Israel alliance and pushing for a harder line against Iran and its terror proxies.

Graham’s connection to Israel is far from new. Over the years, he has visited the country repeatedly and met with Israeli leaders as part of his work on national security and the U.S.-Israel alliance.

After the October 7 massacre, Graham remained one of Israel’s clearest defenders in Congress. He has also supported efforts to strengthen Israel’s security, confront Tehran, and make clear that Hamas cannot remain in control of Gaza. Just this year, he helped lead a bipartisan Senate resolution affirming that Hamas must not retain political or military power and backing Israel’s right to defend its sovereignty against Hamas, Iran, and other Iranian proxies.

Why Pro-Israel Voters Are Watching

That is why this primary matters well beyond South Carolina. Graham’s supporters see him as a dependable friend of Israel at a time when moral clarity in Washington often feels rare. Therefore, many in the pro-Israel camp are watching closely and hoping he secures renomination

For Israel, allies like Graham are crucial because they understand the fight against Hamas, the Iranian regime, and Hezbollah as part of America’s own security interest. In that sense, his race is not only a South Carolina story. It is a test of whether one of Israel’s strongest voices in the Senate will remain at the table.
