Minister Zohar: Israeli Intelligence Saves American Lives

Minister Miki Zohar said the U.S.-Israel partnership remains vital to the free world, arguing that Israeli intelligence and defense technology have helped save American lives and strengthen the U.S. military.

His comments came as Israeli officials continued to defend the strategic value of the alliance between Jerusalem and Washington. Zohar currently serves as Israel’s Minister of Culture and Sport in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.

The Tanakh says, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor” (Ecclesiastes 4:9). That verse gives language to the heart of the alliance. Israel and America are strongest when they stand together against the enemies of freedom.

A Vital Alliance

“The intelligence we provide to the U.S. has saved countless American civilian lives,” Zohar said.

He also pointed to Israel’s technological role in American defense.

“Technologies developed in Israel are used by the U.S. military before anyone else,” he said. “The partnership between Israel and the U.S. is vital to the free world.”

For Israel, this argument is not abstract. Israeli intelligence, cyber capabilities, air defense systems, and battlefield innovation all come from a country that lives under constant threat.

At the same time, the United States gives Israel critical strategic backing. That support helps deter Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, and other hostile forces.

President Donald Trump has often framed the Middle East through deterrence and strength. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has used the same language for years, insisting that Israel must remain able to defend itself by itself.

Therefore, Zohar’s message reflects a broader truth. Israel is not a burden on America. It is a front-line ally with intelligence, technology, and experience that serve the wider free world.
