Karoline Leavitt said Iran requested a meeting with the Trump administration this week, as U.S. envoys prepare to travel to Doha for high-level talks.

Leavitt, the White House press secretary, has become one of the administration’s clearest public voices on Iran, Israel, Hamas, and American strength.

Her latest message to Iran was direct: “Violence will be met with violence.”

According to Leavitt, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will fly to Doha for high-level meetings. In addition, technical-level talks will also take place alongside the main discussions.

“We are upholding our commitments as part of the ceasefire,” Leavitt said.

However, she also pointed to recent attacks against commercial vessels and said the United States had responded.

For Israel, the message matters because Iran’s threat is not limited to one battlefield. The Islamic Republic arms terror groups, threatens shipping lanes, funds regional proxies, and continues to target the Jewish state through multiple fronts.

That is why many Israeli, Jewish, and Zionist observers argue that the real issue is not only another round of talks. The deeper issue is the survival of the Islamic Republic itself and its ability to keep threatening Israel, America, and the free world.

The Tanakh says, “Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” Peace requires pursuit. However, it also requires the defeat of evil when terror regimes choose violence.

Doha Talks After Swiss Tensions

The Doha talks come after earlier tensions around U.S.-Iran diplomacy.

That context appeared clearly in “Iran Delegation Walks Out of Swiss Talks After Trump Threats,” where Tasnim News reported that Iran’s delegation left talks in Switzerland after Trump’s threats. The dispute included Lebanon, the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran’s regional posture.

Those tensions show why many Israelis view negotiations with suspicion. Diplomacy can help when it restrains enemies. However, it becomes dangerous when it gives a violent regime time, money, or legitimacy.

Witkoff and Kushner represent Trump’s dealmaking track. Kushner is also closely associated with the Abraham Accords era, when regional diplomacy moved through strength, incentives, and direct results.

Comparatively, Marco Rubio represents a different but complementary lane. He has built his reputation as a hardline pro-Israel voice, especially against Iran. Therefore, many Jews see Rubio as the figure who keeps moral clarity inside the diplomatic process.

Covenant And Strength

The United States and Israel also share a covenantal understanding before God. Both nations, at their best, see liberty as a moral calling, not only a political system.

For Israel, that calling includes the defense of Jewish life, the return to the land, and the refusal to let evil regimes threaten the people of the covenant.

For America, it includes the belief that freedom comes from God, that human life carries divine dignity, and that tyranny must face strength.

When Washington warns Tehran that violence will meet violence, that shared moral language becomes action. Israel needs an America that understands evil clearly. America needs an Israel that stands as a forward wall against terror, tyranny, and Iranian aggression.

Ultimately, Leavitt’s warning sends the right message. Talks may continue, but terror must carry a price.
