The IDF eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist after he emerged from underground terror infrastructure at the Ali al-Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon, according to the IDF Spokesperson.
The incident took place earlier Thursday in the Security Zone, where IDF soldiers continue to operate.
According to the IDF, soldiers identified the terrorist after he exited one of the access shafts connected to Hezbollah’s underground terror infrastructure.
The terrorist posed an immediate threat to the soldiers.
The Tanakh says, “Behold, the Guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.” That verse speaks directly to the burden of constant vigilance. Israel cannot afford to ignore threats that emerge from tunnels, ridges, and hidden terror networks.
Ali al-Taher Ridge Threat

Following the identification, the Israeli Air Force struck the terrorist and eliminated him.
The IDF said ground forces directed the strike in order to remove the threat.
The report points to the continued danger Hezbollah poses in southern Lebanon. Even after major Israeli operations, the terror group continues to rely on underground infrastructure, hidden access shafts, and terrain near Israel’s northern border.
For IDF soldiers operating in the Security Zone, these threats are not theoretical. A terrorist emerging from a tunnel can become an immediate danger within seconds.
That is why Israel continues to act in the area. The goal is not escalation for its own sake. The goal is to prevent Hezbollah terrorists from using underground infrastructure to threaten Israeli soldiers and civilians.
Hezbollah Underground Infrastructure
The IDF stated that its soldiers are operating in the Ali al-Taher Ridge area.
The military also said it will not allow Hezbollah terrorists to emerge from underground terrorist infrastructure, operate in the area, or pose a threat to IDF soldiers.
That statement matters because Hezbollah has long embedded itself in southern Lebanon while presenting itself as a political force. In reality, its military infrastructure serves Iran’s regional strategy and places Lebanese civilians in danger.
For Israel, the lesson is clear. Terror tunnels, armed cells, and Iranian-backed militias cannot receive immunity because they hide below ground or operate near civilian areas.
A Shared Moral Calling
The United States and Israel also share a covenantal understanding before God. Both nations, at their best, see liberty as a moral calling, not only a political system.
That shared belief includes faith in divine promise, the dignity of human life, and the duty to stand with those who refuse to surrender to terror, tyranny, or antisemitism.
For Israel, that duty includes defending Jewish life in the land promised to the Jewish people. For America, it includes using strength to protect freedom and stand with allies who carry that same moral burden.
This operation reflects that principle in practice. Soldiers identified a threat, directed precision airpower, and removed a terrorist before he could harm them.
Ultimately, the Ali al-Taher Ridge incident shows why Israel remains active in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah’s threat has not disappeared, and Israel will not wait for terrorists to emerge from tunnels before defending its soldiers and citizens.
