Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a sharp warning Friday morning in response to rocket fire from Lebanon, declaring that “if there is no quiet in Kiryat Shmona and the Galilee—there will be no quiet in Beirut.”

“The fate of Kiryat Shmona will be the fate of Beirut. The Lebanese government is directly responsible for any fire toward the Galilee,” Katz said. “We will not allow a return to the reality of October 7. We will ensure the safety of Galilee residents and respond forcefully to any threat.”

Rocket Fire in the North
This morning, two rockets were launched from Lebanese territory. One was successfully intercepted, while the other landed within Lebanese territory. Air raid sirens were activated in several Northern Galilee towns.

Regional Escalation Continues
The incident comes amid ongoing regional tensions. Just yesterday, Israeli forces intercepted two missiles launched by Houthi rebels from Yemen, triggering sirens across Jerusalem and central Israel. It was the eighth Houthi attack on Israeli territory since fighting resumed in Gaza approximately ten days ago.
