Trump Iran inspections became the center of a new dispute after Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson appeared to contradict U.S. claims about nuclear oversight and unfrozen funds.
An Iranian spokesperson said there was no plan for International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to visit damaged civilian nuclear facilities in Iran. He also said Iran would decide on its own how to use unfrozen funds, without restrictions or conditions.
The statement directly challenged remarks from U.S. officials. It also appeared to contradict President Trump’s claim that Iran agreed to strict inspection terms and limits on how released funds could be used.
The Tanakh warns in Proverbs 14:15, “The simple believes everything, but the prudent man gives thought to his steps.” In diplomacy with hostile regimes, that warning matters. Verification is not a technical detail. It is a core requirement for security.
Trump Iran Inspections Clarification

After the Iranian statement, Trump clarified that Iran would allow inspections of its nuclear facilities “forever” and would use unfrozen funds only for approved purchases.
“Despite their denials and false statements,” Trump said, Iran had “fully and completely agreed to the highest level of nuclear inspections for a long time into the future.”
That point is especially significant given the long history of Iran’s nuclear file at the IAEA. Former IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei often stressed that Iran’s case could not rest on assumptions alone. It required access, evidence, and verification. Trump’s statement places that same principle at the center of the current dispute: Tehran’s public denials cannot replace enforceable inspections.
Trump said those inspections would ensure “nuclear integrity.” He added that without Iran’s agreement, “there would have been no further negotiations.”
Funds Under U.S. Control
Trump also said the released funds would not go directly to Iran without oversight. According to his statement, the money will be placed in an escrow account under U.S. control.
He said the funds would be used only to buy food and medical equipment from the United States. Trump listed corn, wheat, and soybeans from American farmers as examples.
That point also connects to Trump’s broader argument about the outcome of the war. As covered earlier in “Trump Blasts New York Times: “That’s What’s Changed,”” Trump argued that major military, economic, and strategic changes had been ignored.
Security Requires Verification
For Israel, the dispute is not abstract. Iran’s nuclear program, regional proxies, and repeated threats place Israeli security at the center of any agreement.
Trump described the talks as going well. However, the contradiction between Tehran’s statement and Washington’s clarification shows why Israel insists on enforceable guarantees, not vague promises. Free nations cannot rely on the word of regimes that deny, delay, and threaten.
