Warning to Lebanon
Early this morning, the IDF Spokesperson in Arabic warned residents of southern Lebanon not to return south, following the ceasefire mentioned in the joint document between the United States, Lebanon, and Israel.
The message told civilians to remain north of the Zahrani River until further notice. The Zahrani River is located farther north than the Litani River.

The Arabic statement read:
“To the Residents of Southern Lebanon:
Fighting in southern Lebanon continues, and the Israel Defense Forces continues to target Hezbollah facilities and infrastructure in your villages and near them.
The Israel Defense Forces does not intend to harm you.
For your safety, you must refrain from heading south of the Zahrani River until further notice.
Anyone who heads south exposes their life to danger.”
Not Against Lebanon
The message reflects a central point Israel has repeated throughout the conflict: Israel is not at war with Lebanon or the Lebanese people. Israel is at war with Hezbollah terrorists.
Hezbollah built its power by embedding weapons, launch sites, tunnels, and military infrastructure inside civilian areas. That strategy turns Lebanese villages into shields for an Iranian-backed terror army.
Israel’s warning is meant to separate civilians from the battlefield before military action continues.
This is the difference.
Hezbollah hides behind civilians. Israel warns civilians to move away from Hezbollah.
Protecting Civilians on Both Sides
Israel’s first duty is to protect Israeli civilians from Hezbollah rockets, drones, missiles, and cross-border attacks.
But Israel also takes steps to reduce harm to civilians on the other side of the conflict. Those steps include public evacuation warnings, Arabic-language instructions, specific geographic guidance, and repeated efforts to inform civilians where not to go while fighting continues.
That does not make war clean or easy. But it shows the difference between a military that warns civilians and a terror organization that uses civilians as cover.
The warning to southern Lebanon is not only a military notice. It is also a moral distinction.
Israel is telling Lebanese civilians: stay away from Hezbollah’s war zone.
Hezbollah is the threat. Civilians should not pay the price for its war against Israel.
