Modern-Day Pioneers
Finance Minister and Minister in the Ministry of Defense, Bezalel Smotrich, visited agricultural farms today (Tuesday) in eastern Samaria and the Jordan Valley, a region integral to Israel’s security and biblical heritage. Accompanying him were Yehuda Eliyahu, Head of the Settlement Directorate; Hillel Roth, Deputy Head of the Civil Administration; and Amichai Shawat, CEO of the Association of Farms, alongside veterans and activists from the Association of Farms.
The tour included stops at Marom Shmuel Farm, managed by Nati and Nasya Schwalb, and Emek Tirza Farm, operated by the Sharvit family. Emek Tirza Farm holds a special significance, having been established with Harel Sharvit, who was tragically killed during the “Operation Iron Swords” conflict in Gaza.
A Fight for the Land
During the visit, Smotrich praised the farmers for their unwavering commitment to protecting the land of Israel. “These farm owners are the modern-day ‘Tower and Stockade’ pioneers, the elite forces in the battle for open spaces,” Smotrich declared, drawing a parallel to the brave pioneers of pre-state Israel. He emphasized that the farms act as a “security defense line,” vital to protecting settlements in Judea and Samaria and countering threats to Israel’s sovereignty.

Smotrich also linked the presence of these farms to the prevention of a Palestinian state and the preservation of Israel’s biblical heartland. “Their work is crucial to safeguarding our national heritage and securing the future of the State of Israel,” he said.
Commitment to Growth and Security
Smotrich highlighted his commitment to supporting and expanding the farms: “We will do much more to grow their presence and provide them with the necessary tools to continue their Zionist mission.” He underscored the strategic and spiritual importance of these agricultural initiatives in bolstering settlement, security, and Israel’s position as a light unto the nations.
Biblical Connections
The farms in Samaria and the Jordan Valley are not just agricultural endeavors; they are tangible expressions of the biblical mandate to steward the land. These regions are critical to Israel’s security and its ability to thrive as a nation, reflecting God’s promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
A Unified Vision
As Israel faces challenges from its neighbors, Smotrich’s visit serves as a reminder of the shared values and strong ties between Israel and its supporters. These farms symbolize resilience, faith, and the enduring partnership between those who stand with Israel in its biblical heartland.
