The Iran nuclear deal announced by President Donald Trump is facing sharp opposition from senior figures close to him, according to reports.
The group includes some of the most pro-Israel voices around Trump. Their concern centers on Iran’s nuclear intentions and whether Tehran can be trusted to give up its nuclear program.
Rubio And Hegseth Oppose Deal
The first is Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Rubio has stood with Israel for years and was one of the figures who pushed Trump to strike Iran.
Since the nuclear deal got underway, Rubio has not given interviews, according to the report. Reports also said Rubio opposed the agreement. According to polls, Rubio remains one of the potential presidential candidates for the 2028 election.
War Secretary Pete Hegseth also strongly opposed the nuclear deal with Iran.
Hegseth is known as an enthusiastic supporter of Israel. He was also among those who pushed Trump to strike Iran.
Ratcliffe Raises Intelligence Concerns

On June 16, it was reported that CIA Director John Ratcliffe warned Trump about Iran’s intentions.
According to the report, intelligence information raises serious doubts about Iran’s willingness to give up its nuclear program.
That warning goes to the center of the issue. Israel and its allies have long argued that Iran’s regime cannot receive the benefit of the doubt when nuclear weapons are on the table.
For Israel, this is not a theoretical debate. Iran has armed, funded, and directed terror forces across the region. Any agreement that leaves room for Iranian deception carries direct security consequences.
Graham: Remember Who We Are Dealing With
Last but not least is Senator Lindsey Graham, a staunchly pro-Israel senator who is considered one of the people closest to President Trump.
Graham wrote: “We must remember who we are dealing with.”
His message reflects the broader concern among Israel’s supporters. A nuclear deal with Iran is not only a diplomatic issue. It is a question of deterrence, trust, and the security of America’s closest ally in the Middle East.
For pro-Israel figures around Trump, the concern is clear. Iran’s record demands caution, not wishful thinking.
