We live in an age when moral lines are increasingly blurred and many voices in the West hesitate to clearly distinguish between right and wrong. However, the existence of good and evil and the difference between them are as true as they ever were. “Hate evil and love good“, preached the Prophet Amos. And the United States, under the leadership of President Donald Trump, is staking out a firm and unapologetic position, choosing to stand on the side of life over death, liberty over tyranny, and moral conviction over moral confusion, confronting terror and its sponsors without equivocation.
Last night (Tuesday), U.S. President Donald Trump delivered his annual State of the Union address before members of the U.S. Congress, Supreme Court justices, cabinet members, senior military officials, and invited guests. Some of the special guests this year were the US gold-winning Olympic hockey team and Erika Kirk, the widow of young Christian conservative powerhouse Charlie Kirk, of blessed memory.
President Trump opened with a sweeping declaration: “Our nation is back bigger, better, richer, and stronger than ever before.”
Addressing Iran, he said “Since they seized control of that nation forty seven years ago the regime and its murderous proxies have spread nothing but terrorism and death and hate.” He further accused Tehran of brutally suppressing dissent, saying that “Just up the last couple of months with the protests, they’ve killed at least it looks like 32,000 protesters in their own country”.
Trump warned that “They’ve already developed missiles that can threaten Europe and our bases overseas and they are working to build missiles that will soon reach the United States of America.”

At the same time, he stressed that he prefers a political solution: “My preference is to solve this problem through diplomacy. He added that while Iran seeks negotiations, “they want to make a deal, but we have not heard those secret words, we will never have a nuclear weapon.’”
The President was unequivocal about the US position on a nuclear Iran: “But one thing is certain — I will never allow the world’s number one sponsor of terror to have a nuclear weapon.”
Background: Rising Tensions with Iran
Trump’s remarks come amid escalating tensions with Iran and growing assessments of a possible American strike. Secretary of State Marco Rubio briefed the “Gang of Eight,” eight senior senators, four Republicans and four Democrats, regarding U.S. plans. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer told reporters after the briefing, “This is serious. The administration must make its case to the American people.”
Meanwhile, Israeli officials assess that the upcoming talks in Geneva between the United States and Iran are unlikely to produce a breakthrough. Senior security and diplomatic sources say Tehran appears to be stalling, assuming that it is either unwilling or unable to produce an agreement that would meet American demands, and certainly not Israeli ones.
Washington, for its part, is reportedly seeking to exhaust diplomatic options before making a decision on military action. According to a source familiar with the negotiations who spoke to CNN, “The round of talks on Thursday will determine everything, war or a deal.” Another source indicated that recent discussions suggest the regime is not prepared to offer Washington ideas that differ in any meaningful way from proposals discussed prior to Israel’s Operation “Rising Lion.”
In parallel with the diplomatic efforts, the United States has reinforced its military presence in the region. Approximately 12 American F-22 fighter jets landed at an Israeli Air Force base as part of preparations for a potential strike on Iran. Two refueling aircraft also arrived at Ben Gurion Airport, bringing the total number stationed there to four.
If it comes down to a physical battle between good and evil, America is ready to fight on the side of the angels.
