Operation Arrow of Bashan marked a decisive return to deep operations within Syrian territory. Starting late Saturday night, the IDF conducted a series of targeted strikes aimed at neutralizing the majority of Syria’s strategic weapon reserves. This bold initiative seeks to prevent these lethal arsenals from falling into the hands of terrorist factions determined to harm Israel and destabilize the region.Operation “Arrow of Bashan.” Photo: IDF Spokesperson

Israel’s Naval Forces also played a pivotal role in this mission. This week, missile ships struck critical Syrian Navy installations at the ports of Al-Baida and Latakia. With precision strikes, the IDF neutralized 15 Syrian naval vessels and dozens of advanced sea-to-sea missiles. These missiles, capable of striking targets up to 190 kilometers away, posed a significant threat to civilian and military maritime traffic in the region. By preemptively dismantling this threat, the IDF safeguarded freedom of navigation and regional security.Operation Arrow of Bashan. Photo: IDF Spokesperson
Defending Israel’s Northern Communities
The IDF’s Bashan Division (Division 210) has also been at the forefront of defending Israel’s northern border. The division, under expert leadership, has mobilized elite infantry, armored units, engineering teams, and commando forces to protect the Golan Heights and all citizens of Israel from evolving security threats. These coordinated efforts underscore Israel’s commitment to the safety and peace of its people.Operation Arrow of Bashan. Photo: IDF Spokesperson

During the proactive defense activities, four brigade combat teams conducted patrols, observations, and scans to identify threats along the border line between Syria and Israel – and even deep within Israel’s northeastern neighbor, just 30 kilometers from Damascus. The brigade combat team 474 forces seized control positions in the buffer zone, where they managed to locate and confiscate abandoned Syrian tanks and additional weaponry.

Moreover, forces from the Mountain Brigade (810) and soldiers from the Shaldag Unit completed a brigade-level operation in the Syrian Hermon area. During the operation, they identified a Syrian Army outpost containing dangerous weaponry such as mines, explosives, anti-tank missiles, and advanced military equipment. The operation was declared a success and served as a historic, no less than operational milestone, strengthening Israel’s security in the military and political reality in the aftermath of the upheaval in Syria.

This historic mission is more than a military success—it is a fulfillment of Israel’s enduring commitment to defend its sovereignty, protect its people, and bring stability to a region fraught with turmoil. In the wake of Assad’s regime’s fall, the IDF’s swift and decisive actions affirm Israel’s role as a light in the darkness, standing resolute for peace, safety, and God’s promise to His people.
