On the eve of Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration, Israel’s defense establishment received significant news: the incoming president has removed restrictions on the supply of strategic weapons to Israel, previously imposed by the Biden administration. Journalist Yehuda Schlesinger reported this development today (Sunday), marking a pivotal moment for Israel’s military readiness.
Trump Approves Critical Battlefield Equipment
Among the newly approved military shipments are D9 bulldozers, indispensable tools in the IDF’s operations. These armored bulldozers are crucial for uncovering explosives, clearing paths, and demolishing enemy structures without the use of additional explosives. Thanks to their unique design, the D9s provide unparalleled resilience against gunfire and explosives, making them essential in complex combat scenarios.

Shipment Set to Embark for Israel
Seventy D9 bulldozers are set to depart the U.S. for Israel in the coming days, with journalist Schlesinger tweeting: “Ten months ago, Israel ordered and paid for 130 units – the Americans imposed an arms embargo, and the equipment was not shipped.” The delay had been part of a Biden administration policy aimed at pressuring Israel for humanitarian concessions in Gaza.
A Renewed Partnership for Security
In a speech following the approval of a hostage deal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump’s decisive action: “Trump has removed all remaining restrictions on the supply of essential arms and munitions to the State of Israel, enabling us to return to fighting with tremendous force and intensity if necessary.”
Defense officials emphasized that lifting the embargo significantly enhances Israel’s operational capabilities, providing the IDF with the tools needed to address ongoing and emerging threats. This pivotal decision strengthens the U.S.-Israel alliance and reinforces Israel’s readiness to defend its people and land.
The shared interests of the U.S. and Israel in the region make their cooperation a natural and mutually beneficial partnership. What strengthens one nation brings exponential benefits to the other, creating a bond of friendship and support that multiplies over time. As the Bible teaches in Job: “After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.” – Job 42:10.
