A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office emphasized the Israeli Defense Forces’ (IDF) strict control over the Rafah Crossing, ensuring all movements are closely monitored: “No one passes through the crossing without supervision, monitoring, and prior approval by the IDF and Shin Bet.” The office refuted Palestinian Authority claims about broader control, calling it a campaign to promote a false narrative.
He also clarified the limited role of the Palestinian Authority (PA), stating their responsibilities are confined to passport stamping under international agreements, with technical operations carried out by vetted Gazans overseen by EUBAM (European Union Border Assistance Mission).

Netanyahu: Palestinian Authority’s Role Limited to Passport Stamping
He further clarified the limited role of the Palestinian Authority (PA), explaining that their responsibilities are restricted to passport stamping under international agreements, to be carried out by vetted Gazans carefully screened by the Shin Bet. These individuals, who have been managing technical operations such as electricity, water, and sewage services since the onset of the war, operate under strict oversight by the European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM), ensuring compliance with security protocols and international standards.
Earlier Reports Denied
Arab media reports suggested that Mossad and Shin Bet officials reached an understanding with the Egyptian intelligence chief, allowing an expanded PA role at Rafah Crossing under UN supervision, which the Prime Minister’s Office has categorically denied. Netanyahu emphasized: “The Palestinian Authority’s only practical involvement is stamping passports. This system applies to Phase One of the framework and will be reevaluated in the future.”
Through vigilance and prayer, Israel ensures the security of its critical crossing points. Just as during the Exodus from Egypt, when Israel faced the threat of the sea, God provided a safe crossing for His people: “The Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.” – Exodus 14:22. May Israel continue to be guided and protected by divine wisdom and strength in securing its borders and safeguarding its people.
