At the General Assembly of the Manufacturers Association, Defense Ministry Director-General Maj. Gen. (Res.) Eyal Zamir lauded the critical role of Israel’s defense industries in ensuring manufacturing independence and sustaining the nation through complex military campaigns. Highlighting the extraordinary national effort during wartime, Zamir emphasized the pivotal lesson learned: “We must primarily rely on ourselves—we have no other choice.”
“Made in Israel” – A Strategy for Security and Survival
“MADE IN ISRAEL is not just a slogan; it’s a work plan. The security achievements that have reshaped the Middle East would not have been possible without the unparalleled mobilization of Israeli defense industries. Starting on October 7, IDF soldiers saved the State of Israel, but the defense industries gave us the breathing room to continue functioning over time.”
Zamir underscored that the achievements reshaping the Middle East were made possible by the unparalleled mobilization of Israeli defense industries. “Starting on October 7, IDF soldiers saved the State of Israel, but the defense industries gave us the breathing room to continue functioning over time.”

A National Effort to Keep the War Machine Running
Zamir highlighted the immense dedication of the defense industry workforce, saying: “The fact that the war machine never stopped and the country’s operational continuity was maintained is thanks to you. In some areas, we had to work 24/7, and factory workers joined shifts on Fridays and Saturdays out of a sense of mission. This was an extraordinary national effort, and I want to thank you for it.”
Manufacturing Independence: A Pillar of National Strength
Dr. Ron Tomer, President of the Manufacturers Association, highlighted the strategic importance of manufacturing independence, noting its role in overcoming embargoes and ensuring Israel’s economy and military meet all challenges. “Only through this independence can Israel stand against its enemies,” Tomer affirmed, pledging continued collaboration with the Defense Ministry to strengthen production capabilities for future challenges. “Our goal is clear: to ensure manufacturing independence that enables the military and the state to face any future challenge.”

“Israel Must Defend Itself by Itself”: Key Takeaways from the Nagle Committee
T The recently published Nagle Committee report highlighted the critical need for a shift in Israel’s security strategy, emphasizing self-reliance, readiness, and decisive action against threats. Brig. Gen. (Res.) Jacob Nagel affirmed: “Israel must defend itself, by itself, under any circumstances,” reflecting the nation’s unwavering commitment to its sovereignty and survival. Israel’s self-reliance is essential to achieving its goals, as Proverbs 12:11 reminds us: “Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread.” Likewise, Israel will reap the rewards of its dedication to independence and resilience.
