Lindsey Graham won the South Carolina Republican Senate primary after facing backlash over his strong support for Israel and U.S. action against Iran.
The pro-Israel Republican senator won 56.8% of the vote, defeating five primary challengers. Businessman Mark Lynch finished second with 28.9%.
Lynch had sharply criticized Graham over his support for striking Iran. He also drew support from figures in the conservative-right MAGA camp that opposes war with Tehran.
However, Graham still won by a wide margin. He also had President Donald Trump’s endorsement, which helped reinforce his standing in a state where Trump remains deeply influential.
Israel And Iran
Graham has long stood among the strongest pro-Israel voices in the U.S. Senate. He has repeatedly backed Israel’s right to defend itself and warned against the Iranian regime’s regional aggression.
His frequent visits to Israel have reinforced that position, placing him alongside Israeli officials during moments of regional pressure and war.

For many pro-Israel voters, the race carried a larger message. Support for Israel and a firm line against Iran remain central issues inside the Republican Party.
Graham’s critics tried to turn his Iran position into a political liability. Instead, South Carolina Republican voters gave him another victory.
The result shows that a clear security message can still win. It also shows that Trump’s endorsement remains powerful, even when parts of the MAGA right split over foreign policy.
Trump-Backed Victory
Graham is now set to run for a fifth Senate term. In November, he will face Democrat Annie Andrews in the general election.
The South Carolina race also highlighted a broader Republican debate over Iran. Some conservatives want to avoid any military confrontation. Others argue that the United States must stand firmly with Israel and stop Tehran before it becomes more dangerous.
Graham’s win strengthens the second camp.
For Israel and its supporters, the message is clear. A senior Republican senator who backs Israel, supports Trump, and favors pressure on Iran survived a direct challenge from anti-war voices.
South Carolina voters did not punish Graham for standing with Israel. They rewarded him with a decisive primary victory.
