Israeli businessman Eran Efrat praised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for bringing the United States into the war, despite making clear that he is not usually a Netanyahu supporter.
Efrat, who has often criticized Netanyahu, wrote that fairness required him to acknowledge what he viewed as a major strategic achievement.
“Well Done To Netanyahu”
“I will write this because it is fair to say, even though it pains me,” Efrat wrote. “Well done to Netanyahu for managing to bring the U.S. into the war.”
He said that if the effort had succeeded and regime change had taken place in Iran, it would have been “a once-in-a-generation achievement.”
However, Efrat argued that criticizing Netanyahu only after the outcome became clear is useful mostly for political attacks.
“But it failed,” he wrote, “and criticizing in hindsight is great only for scoring political points on Twitter.”
A Major Strategic Moment
Efrat said Israel had still created a remarkable situation.
“After all, in the end, a truly impressive situation was created here: Israel brought the U.S. into a war against its most bitter enemy,” he wrote.

For Israel, Iran is not a distant rival. It is the regime behind a regional network of terror proxies, missile threats, nuclear ambitions, and attacks on the Jewish state.
That is why Efrat’s point matters. Even from a critical voice, the argument was clear: moving the world’s greatest power to fight alongside Israel was not a small achievement.
Beyond Political Attacks
Efrat wrote that if the effort had succeeded, Israelis would now be applauding and recognizing a historic improvement in Israel’s security position.
“If it had succeeded, we would be standing, applauding, and seeing Israel’s security situation changed for the better for decades to come,” he wrote.
His conclusion was blunt: it is impossible not to appreciate the ability to move the world’s strongest power to fight beside a small country in the Middle East.
For supporters of Israel, the statement cuts through political noise. The question is not whether every decision worked perfectly. The question is whether Israel acted with strategic ambition against the regime that threatens its future.
