Following the agreement to release hostages in exchange for prisoners, and in alignment with the government’s strategy to bolster security in Judea and Samaria as part of the ongoing war effort, the IDF’s Central Command has significantly increased its operations throughout the region.
Combat forces have been deployed to enhance the protection of Israeli citizens, counter terrorism, and prevent disturbances. Troops are reinforcing major transportation routes with additional checkpoints established to improve security and ensure the safety of residents.

Targeting Terror Hotspots and Maintaining Calm
The IDF emphasized its dual approach of defensive and offensive operations, stating: “Alongside security forces, the IDF will continue to act both defensively and offensively to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens,” reflecting the prayer of King David: “May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.” – Psalms 122:7. These efforts include identifying terrorist elements, maintaining calm, and proactively addressing potential threats in various villages to prevent future attacks.

Security Cabinet Updates War Objectives
Over the weekend, the Security Cabinet updated Israel’s war objectives in light of the hostage deal, prioritizing increased security in Judea and Samaria. Significant forces are being allocated to the region, mirroring the post-October 7th deployments, with any future reductions subject to Cabinet decisions.
Objectives include:
- Intensified action against terrorist organizations in Judea and Samaria.
- Enhanced defense measures for Israeli communities and transportation routes.
- Swift resumption of combat operations, including targeted eliminations and economic sanctions, should Hamas violate the agreement.
