Agriculture Agreement
The Israel Albania agriculture agreement marks a renewed partnership after more than 25 years, focused on food security, farm innovation, and Israeli agricultural technology.
The agreement was signed during the AgriNext 2026 Israel-Albania Food Security Conference, as the two countries moved to expand cooperation in one of the world’s most urgent fields: how to grow more food, with fewer resources, under harder climate conditions.
For Israel, this is familiar territory. A small country with limited land, scarce water, and constant security pressure became a global leader in irrigation, agricultural technology, food resilience, and practical farming solutions. Now, those tools are being shared with Albania.
Israeli Agriculture Goes Global
The new memorandum of understanding covers agricultural innovation, technology, food security, irrigation, fertilization, plant protection, veterinary services, animal welfare, and professional training.
It also promotes research cooperation, knowledge transfer, and the use of advanced agricultural technologies.
That is the real story behind the agreement: Israel is not only defending itself. It is exporting the systems, tools, and knowledge that help other countries become stronger too.
As global food and climate challenges grow, Israeli agriculture has become part of Israel’s diplomatic power. The same country that learned how to make the desert bloom is now helping partners build more resilient food systems.
Israel Albania Agriculture Agreement Renewed
The agreement renews a historic framework between Israel and Albania, following an earlier agricultural agreement signed in 2001.

During the visit, Israeli officials also took part in AgriNext 2026, the Israel-Albania Forum for Food Security and Economic Innovation. The forum brought together government officials, companies, and organizations from both countries to promote cooperation in agriculture, trade, and technology.
The Israeli delegation is also set to visit the MASHAV Excellence Farm, a model of Israeli-Albanian agricultural cooperation. The farm uses advanced Israeli methods and serves as a training and demonstration center for local farmers.
Food Security and Workers
The visit also included a practical step for Israel’s own agricultural sector.
Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, together with the Population and Immigration Authority, is working to advance a first-of-its-kind bilateral agreement to bring seasonal workers from Albania to Israel’s farms.
The model would bring workers for defined periods, based on the needs of Israeli agriculture, especially during peak seasons.
For Israel, that means strengthening the continuity of local farming. For Albania, it creates new opportunities for workers and deeper cooperation with Israel.
Israeli Farm-Tech for Small Farms
Agriculture is one of Albania’s key industries. More than 90% of its 380,000 farms are small family-run farms, and they make up most of the country’s agricultural land.
That makes Israeli agricultural technology especially relevant.
Israel’s experience with irrigation, training, food security, and farm efficiency can help small farms become more productive and more resilient.
The message is bigger than one agreement. Israel’s strength is not only military or diplomatic. It is practical. It is water, food, technology, training, and survival.
From the Negev to Albania, Israeli innovation is helping shape the future of food security.
