Trump Claims Complete Hamas Disarmament Agreement

President Donald Trump announced a Hamas disarmament agreement, calling it a historic step toward lasting peace and security in Gaza.

Trump said the Board of Peace reached an agreement for the “complete disarmament” of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. He also said the deal would help move Gaza toward new Palestinian governance, while giving Israel the security it deserves.

“The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will not be allowed to rebuild,” Trump wrote. That line captures the heart of the agreement. Any future plan for Gaza must begin with one principle: Hamas cannot keep its weapons, tunnels, factories, and command structure.

The Tanakh says, “Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” That verse gives this moment its proper frame. Peace does not come from paper alone. It requires the removal of terror and the protection of innocent life.

Hamas Disarmament Agreement

The Peace Council described the roadmap as a historic achievement. It said Hamas had officially committed to a practical and implementable plan for the first time.

Under the roadmap, Hamas would disarm completely. After that, Israel would withdraw from the Gaza Strip. The plan also aims to bring tangible benefits to Gaza’s residents, who have suffered under years of terror rule and war. However, implementation remains the decisive issue.

Al Jazeera published a draft from Hamas and the Palestinian factions regarding “resistance weapons” in Gaza. The draft deals with heavy weapons, military production sites, weapons depots, and tunnels.

It says the weapons collection process depends on the completion of remaining commitments from the Sharm al-Sheikh protocol. It also links the process to the entry of a national committee and the deployment of an international stabilization force. Within 14 days, the national committee would prepare a timetable for collecting weapons. An international verification committee would supervise the process with help from the stabilization force.

Hamas Already Signals Limits

Ghazi Hamad, a member of Hamas’s negotiating delegation, told Al Jazeera: “We will not take any step regarding disarmament before Israel withdraws from the Gaza Strip.”

He also said Israel would not take part in the disarmament process. According to Hamad, the national committee would handle the task.

Hamas has a long record of using agreements, civilian language, and international pressure to preserve military power. The group built military compounds inside and beneath hospitals, while denying the facts despite clear evidence.

This issue ties directly to “Israeli Foreign Minister: Hamas Wants A ‘Hezbollah Model’ In Gaza.” Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar warned that Hamas’s technocratic government proposal aims to preserve its weapons and copy Hezbollah’s model in Gaza.

A Gaza model where Hamas hides weapons behind a civilian committee would not bring real disarmament. It would only rebrand terror control.

Covenant Of Peace With Real Security

The United States and Israel share a covenantal understanding before God rooted in justice, protection of life, liberty, and peace through strength.

America’s covenantal tradition emphasizes freedom under God, lawful order, and the defeat of violent tyranny. Israel’s covenant is ancient and unique, rooted in the God of Israel, Torah, Jewish peoplehood, and the return to the land.

America wants a regional order where Gaza’s people live under leadership that serves them. Israel wants that same outcome, but with a non-negotiable condition. October 7 cannot rebuild under another name.

There is room for cautious optimism. If Hamas truly disarms, the deal could reshape Gaza’s future. If the tunnels come down and the weapons leave terror control, Gaza could finally move toward a different reality.

For Israel, the agreement must produce security, and for America, it must prove that diplomacy backed by strength can defeat terror instead of managing it. While for Gazan civilians, it must remove the armed faction that turned their territory into a battlefield.
