PMO: Hezbollah Used Human Shields After Attack On IDF

The Prime Minister’s Office said Hezbollah violated the ceasefire, seriously wounded three IDF soldiers, and used civilians as human shields

Hezbollah ceasefire violation claims intensified after the Prime Minister’s Office said three IDF soldiers were seriously wounded in an attack inside Lebanon’s security zone.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Hezbollah attacked Israeli soldiers in the security zone on Saturday morning. Israel says that zone protects Israeli communities across the border. The PMO said three soldiers suffered serious wounds in the Hezbollah attack.

The Tanakh says, “I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.” That verse fits the moment because Israel accepted a ceasefire framework, yet Hezbollah continues to test it through violence. Peace cannot survive when a terror army uses agreements as cover for attacks.

Hezbollah Ceasefire Violation

The Prime Minister’s Office said the IDF responded by striking the Hezbollah terror headquarters that gave the order to carry out the attack. Only afterward, according to the announcement, did the IDF learn that Hezbollah had deliberately placed civilians inside the military compound.

The statement came after criticism against Israel, following reports that family members of a senior Hezbollah Radwan Force commander were killed along with him. Israel’s response focused on Hezbollah’s method of war: placing civilians near military targets, then accusing Israel when those civilians are harmed.

“Hezbollah is willing to do anything,” the Prime Minister’s Office said, including using its own civilians as human shields to falsely accuse Israel of deliberately harming civilians. The PMO said the IDF “clearly did not” deliberately target civilians.

Hezbollah’s Human Shield Strategy

The incident exposes the central problem with Hezbollah’s presence in southern Lebanon. The terror group attacks Israeli soldiers, embeds command structures near civilians, and then uses the damage it caused as propaganda against Israel.

That same pattern appeared in “IDF Says Hezbollah Device Injured Lebanese Soldiers.” In that article, the IDF rejected Lebanese Army claims of an Israeli strike and said a Hezbollah explosive device injured five Lebanese soldiers in southern Lebanon. Together, the incidents show how Hezbollah’s weapons endanger Israelis, Lebanese civilians, and Lebanese soldiers alike.

This also matters for Washington. The United States has invested diplomatic weight in ceasefire enforcement, Lebanese stability, and efforts to prevent a wider regional war. Hezbollah’s violations undermine that diplomacy and test whether terror groups can attack under a ceasefire while shifting blame onto Israel.

Covenant Of Protection And Truth

The United States and Israel share a covenantal understanding that peace must rest on truth. Both nations, at their best, believe innocent life must be protected, terror must be confronted, and moral responsibility cannot be twisted into surrender before evil.

That covenantal vision matters when Hezbollah hides behind civilians. Israel must defend its soldiers and northern communities, but it also faces a propaganda war designed to punish the Jewish state for striking terrorists who place civilians in danger.

The PMO’s message was therefore not only about one strike. It was about the moral architecture of the battlefield. Hezbollah wounded Israeli soldiers, used a civilian setting around a military compound, and then relied on outrage to weaken Israel’s right to respond.

A ceasefire that allows Hezbollah to attack, embed, and accuse is not peace. It is another weapon. Israel’s responsibility is to stop that weapon before it reaches Israeli homes.
