Following the release of hostages Yarden Bibas, Keith Segal, and Ofer Kalderon from Hamas captivity on Saturday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a resolute statement, assuring the Israeli people that the government will not rest until every hostage is returned and Israel’s war objectives are fully realized.
“Ofer, Yarden, Keith – how good it is to see you at home!” Netanyahu said with heartfelt emotion. “Together with all the citizens of Israel and so many around the world, my wife and I were deeply moved to witness your return.”
The Prime Minister underscored Israel’s firm stance in hostage negotiations, emphasizing that no violations of the agreement would be tolerated. “Earlier this week, we made it decisively clear that any breach of the agreement would not be accepted. As a result, we secured the release of three of our hostages earlier than expected. After the chaotic scenes in Gaza, we insisted that the next releases proceed under secure conditions—and today, our firm stance proved effective. The message was conveyed, and received. Israel expects that all remaining phases will be executed safely.”
Netanyahu vowed that Israel would persist in its efforts with unwavering determination: “We will continue to act with resolve to bring all our hostages home and to achieve every one of our war’s objectives.”
As the nation rejoiced over the latest hostage releases, Netanyahu reminded Israelis that the mission is far from over. “In the past two weeks, we have freed 13 of our hostages, along with five Thai citizens also held by Hamas. Our hearts remain with Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas—as well as with all our hostages, both the living and the fallen, who have not yet come home.”
Hostage Yarden Bibas was released today, yet his wife, Shiri Bibas, and their two young sons, Ariel (5) and Kfir (2), remain in captivity after being brutally abducted from their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7th. Kfir, just 9 months old at the time, became the youngest hostage taken in these horrific attacks. Their fate remains unknown, and deep concerns persist for their well-being.
As we continue to fight for their return, we hold onto the promises of Scripture, praying for the day when every hostage is safely reunited with their loved ones. “I will signal for them and gather them in, for I have redeemed them, and they will be as numerous as before… with their children they shall live and return.” – Zechariah 10:8-9
May this prophecy soon be fulfilled, and may we soon witness the safe return of every captive, both the living for healing and the fallen for a proper burial in their homeland.
At the conclusion of his response to the release of the three hostages, he said: “We will continue to act with determination to bring them home and to achieve all the war’s objectives. With God’s help – we will act and succeed.”
