Health Ministry Issues Guidelines for Weekend Heat Wave
The Ministry of Health issued a warning for an expected heat wave in most parts of the country, which will peak starting tomorrow (Friday) and last through Sunday.
The ministry calls on the general public, especially the elderly, children, pregnant women, and those with chronic illnesses, to avoid sun exposure and unnecessary physical exertion as much as possible. Additionally, it is important to drink water and stay in air-conditioned places.
The ministry recommends avoiding hikes in nature during the heat wave and reminds the public that it is strictly forbidden to leave children, the elderly, or animals in a closed vehicle. It was also emphasized that in case of suspected heatstroke, Magen David Adom should be called immediately, and action should be taken to cool the victim in a shaded area. Treatment and administration of fluids will be performed by medical personnel only.
