This morning (Thursday), the IDF identified a failed rocket launch carried out from the Gaza City area toward the territory of the State of Israel. The rocket fell within the Gaza Strip, near a hospital.
The IDF rapidly responded with a precise strike on the launch site.
‼️ For the second time in the past 24 hours, Hamas has violated the ceasefire agreement.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated that the military views with utmost severity any attempt by terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip to carry out attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians.
Earlier, the IDF and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) also responded to Hamas fire directed at areas where IDF forces were operating in the northern Gaza Strip, striking a senior Hamas terrorist who was involved in advancing terror activity against Israeli forces.
The Current Ceasefire
In October 2025, Israel and Hamas agreed to a U.S.-brokered ceasefire intended to pause the two-year war in the Gaza Strip and begin steps toward a broader peace plan. The agreement, announced in Cairo and supported by the Israeli government and the Trump administration, called for an immediate halt to major hostilities, the release of all remaining Israeli hostages held by Hamas in exchange for the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners and the resumption of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and an Israeli withdrawal to a temporary demarcation line known as the “Yellow Line”. President Trump personally championed the deal, signing the ceasefire agreement alongside Israeli and international leaders and describing it as an initial step toward lasting stability in the region.
Today’s failed rocket launch is the latest in a long series of ceasefire violations by Hamas. With regard to the hostage provisions, Hamas has repeatedly failed to comply fully with the agreement, employing delays, staging body recoveries, handing over unidentified or incorrect remains, and in one instance transferring partial remains of a hostage whose body had already been recovered by Israeli forces.
Most notably, Hamas has yet to return the body of fallen hero Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, a member of Israel’s elite Yasam police counter-terrorism unit. On October 7, despite being injured, Gvili put on his uniform and went into battle. He fell while defending Kibbutz Alumim, fighting to his last bullet. His body was taken into the Gaza Strip, where it remains to this day.
Other violations of the agreement included attacks on IDF soldiers and breaches of the Yellow Line.

“No Weapon Formed Against You Shall Prosper”
Israel, and the Jewish Diaspora, have sadly endured much loss since the massacre of October 7 was unleashed in all its horror across the South of Israel. But moments like these echo the scriptural promise: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17). And as terrorists in Gaza fail to launch yet another attack on Israeli citizens, we can take strength from the knowledge that while Israel’s enemies may devise weapons, they will not ultimately prevail.
