US: Israel-Lebanon Agreement Pilot Begins
Under a new U.S.-announced pilot program, Israeli forces will withdraw from villages in southern Lebanon, to be replaced by the Lebanese army, which will work to dismantle Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure.
The U.S. State Department announces: A pilot program to implement the agreement between Israel and Lebanon has begun.
As part of the pilot, Israeli forces are expected to withdraw from the villages of Froun, Srifa, and Zawtar El Gharbieh in the country’s south. Lebanese Armed Forces soldiers will replace them in the territory with the goal of destroying the Hezbollah terror organization’s infrastructure in the area.
