S/Sgt. Itay Buton, S/Sgt. Afik Teri Killed in Gaza
The IDF has named two soldiers killed in combat in the northern Gaza Strip: S/Sgt. Itay Buton, 20, and S/Sgt. Afik Teri, 19. An officer and another soldier were also seriously wounded in the same incident.
The IDF announced Monday morning that S/Sgt. Itay Buton, 20, from Petah Tikva, and S/Sgt. Afik Teri, 19, from Rehovot, soldiers in the Givati Brigade’s Tzabar Battalion, fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip. The two were killed when an anti-tank missile struck the APC they were traveling in. An officer and another soldier from the Tzabar Battalion were seriously wounded in the same battle.
Itay Buton, of blessed memory, a resident of the Em HaMoshavot neighborhood in Petah Tikva, is survived by his parents, Liat and Avi, and two sisters, Shir and Stav. He studied at Ahad Ha’am High School in the city and was a die-hard fan of the Hapoel Tel Aviv soccer team. His funeral will be held today at 3:00 PM in the military section of the Segula cemetery in Petah Tikva.
Afik Teri, of blessed memory, a resident of Rehovot, is survived by his parents, Ilanit and Ronen, and two brothers, Ofek and Yam. He studied at Katzir High School in the city. His funeral will be held today at 3:00 PM in the military section of the cemetery in Rehovot.
This brings the number of fallen IDF soldiers since the start of the war to 385.
