A strategic infrastructure built over approximately two decades was located in the routes, containing command centers, weapons rooms and generators, living quarters, showers, and a kitchen that enabled prolonged stays and management of combat from underground. According to the IDF, the infrastructure was funded and planned by Iran and was used to advance terror plots against Israel and IDF forces.
