PM’s Office releases Netanyahu’s Oct. 7 timeline: Updated on Gaza attack at 6:29 a.m., by 6:44 a.m. he requested an assessment of a large-scale reserve call-up and eliminating Hamas leadership
Around 8:00 a.m., Netanyahu arrived at the Kirya—at 8:22 a.m. according to Shin Bet records—and received updates from the field in the hours that followed. At 9:47 a.m., according to the PM’s Office, the military secretary first received the situation assessment document that the head of the Shin Bet had conducted at 5:15 a.m.
At 9:55 a.m., Netanyahu convened a situation assessment, in which, according to his office, he rejected a recommendation for a partial reserve call-up and ordered a full mobilization. He also instructed that the border with the Strip be closed to prevent the transfer of hostages and further terrorist infiltration, and ordered a war directive and preparation for the northern front.
