Israel announced today a postponement of its planned withdrawal from Lebanon, originally scheduled for the conclusion of the first 60 days of the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah. The delay stems from Lebanon’s failure to fully enforce the ceasefire terms. Emphasizing its commitment to protecting Israeli citizens, Israel affirmed that the withdrawal process will proceed in close coordination with the United States.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office declared: “The State of Israel will not endanger its citizens and towns. We will insist on the full implementation of the objectives of the northern campaign—ensuring the safe return of residents to their homes.”
Tensions Rise as Evacuated Villagers Plan Return
Lebanese media reported last night that thousands of displaced residents from southern Lebanese villages are organizing a march back to their homes this morning. In response, IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued a warning to Lebanese residents, stating that returning south of the village line remains prohibited at this stage: “Anyone moving south of this line is putting themselves at risk.”

Uncovering and Destroying Hezbollah Infrastructure
Last week, Israeli forces conducted a large-scale operation in southern Lebanon, uncovering and destroying critical Hezbollah infrastructure aimed at endangering Israeli cities. Among the discoveries were underground tunnels in the Saluki region, used as staging areas for Hezbollah fighters, which were meticulously examined and neutralized in controlled explosions by the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit.

Additionally, vast stockpiles of weapons were found in a mosque and a nearby vehicle, including mortar shells, rockets, and explosives. The Golani Brigade also uncovered trucks with rocket launchers and warehouses filled with advanced weaponry intended for attacks on Israeli civilians. All items were confiscated, and facilities were demolished to prevent their future use.

The IDF emphasized its unwavering focus on precision and professionalism in all operations. Ground forces, engineering units, and intelligence teams worked in seamless coordination to neutralize threats while ensuring the safety of Israeli citizens.
A Biblical Perspective
Israel’s actions echo the divine mandate to protect its people. As Nehemiah inspired his people to defend themselves while rebuilding Jerusalem, Israel too stands ready to safeguard its citizens. “Therefore, I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears, and bows.” – Nehemiah 4:13.
Israel’s commitment to securing its borders and protecting its people reflects its enduring resilience and reliance on both strategic wisdom and divine guidance. With continued vigilance and cooperation, Israel aims to achieve lasting security in the region.
