Houthi Threats Reroute Saudi Oil Tankers

Following Houthi threats to impose a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia, Asian fuel companies have begun changing the routes of tankers from the port of Yanbu.

Instead of sailing south through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the ships are being diverted north to the Suez Canal and around Africa. This detour will add about four weeks to transport times and raise shipping prices to Asia.
