Health Ministry: Man in His 70s Dies From West Nile Fever; Infected Mosquitoes Found in Several Communities

The Ministry of Health reported that a man in his 70s who became ill in July died as a result of complications from the disease, bringing the number of diagnosed cases this year to 10.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Health are updating on the detection of virus-infected female mosquitoes in Tel Aviv, Tayibe, Tira, Qalansawe, and the Lev HaSharon Regional Council, and are calling on the public to take protective measures against mosquitoes.

More details on the disappearance of Eldar Dayan: Dayan’s body was located this morning in an open area near Route 40, a day after the investigation was transferred from the Dimona station to the Sharon Central Unit, after all search efforts were exhausted.

Israel Police confirms that the body located this morning during searches by the Central District is that of the late Eldar Dayan, who was declared missing on July 25, 2026, following a report received at the Dimona station in the Southern District. His family has been notified.
