Dozens Arrested in Major Undercover Sting

Hundreds of police officers and special forces fighters arrested dozens of suspects this morning, including 20 major crime targets, following the deployment of a first-of-its-kind undercover agent from the Bedouin community nicknamed “The Nomad.”

The agent, operated by the Etgar unit in Lahav 433, worked for an extended period among criminal elements across the country, documenting deals and covertly purchasing four M16 rifles, dozens of handguns, and about half a kilogram of cocaine.

The arrests were made in a number of communities, including Rahat, Tel Sheva, Arad, Eilat, and East Jerusalem. The suspects will be brought later today for a remand hearing at the Rishon LeZion Magistrate’s Court.
