Bill to Aid Disabled IDF Veterans Passes First Reading
A new bill passed its first reading in the Knesset, aiming to establish a committee to provide ex gratia support to disabled IDF veterans and their families in severe distress. The law also defines, for the first time, dedicated care for veterans suffering from combat shock.
A new bill has passed its first reading in the Knesset unanimously. The law will formalize the activities of the committee for providing ex gratia assistance within the Rehabilitation Department, allowing it to support disabled IDF veterans and their families who have fallen into severe distress in exceptional cases.
Additionally, the law defines for the first time a dedicated and tailored response and treatment for victims of combat shock from the Ministry of Defense’s Disabled Rehabilitation Department.
