“We flew shoulder to shoulder with the Israelis, the British, the French, and the Jordanians,” said one of the pilots. In a rare and dramatic disclosure, American fighter pilots are speaking out about their role in preventing catastrophe in Israel during one of the most unprecedented direct attacks in the history of the Islamic Republic’s conflict with the Jewish state.
On the night of April 13, 2024, Iran launched more than 300 missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles at Israel in what it dubbed ‘The True Promise.’ The massive barrage included approximately 185 suicide drones, 110 to 130 ballistic missiles, and around 36 cruise missiles—a coordinated and deliberate assault aimed at overwhelming Israel’s defenses.
One year ago today, Iran launched 300 missiles and drones at Israel. Our aviators risked everything to stop it. These heroes will never know how many innocent lives they saved that night. Hear the story from those who lived it. Damn proud of these patriots! pic.twitter.com/ekiXHhRmAS
A Massive Defensive Operation, Led by Israel with Regional Coalition Support
In response, the IDF activated an expansive defensive operation with the critical support of a regional coalition that included the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Jordan. Together, Israeli air defense systems and allied fighter jets successfully intercepted about 99% of the incoming threats.
“We got the call in the middle of the night,” recounted one U.S. Air Force pilot involved in the mission. “It was clear—this wasn’t a drill. This was war. Every pilot knew exactly what was at stake.”
A Few Missiles Landed—But Disaster Was Averted
The joint operation prevented what could have been catastrophic destruction. All drones and cruise missiles were intercepted before entering Israeli airspace, and the vast majority of ballistic missiles were either shot down mid-air or failed during launch. Only a handful managed to strike Israeli territory, causing minor damage. Tragically, a 7-year-old Bedouin girl was seriously injured.
“We reached the operational zone within minutes,” said another American pilot. “Waves of threats were closing in on Israel. We had to respond with absolute precision and full coordination. We flew side by side with the Israelis, the Brits, the French, and the Jordanians. It was truly a global mission.”

“Yes, We Were Scared—But We Flew”
“Yes, we were scared,” another pilot admitted. “But fear doesn’t stop you. You fly. You fight. And you know—you saved lives. That’s what matters.”
As the region continues to face the looming specter of Iranian aggression, this rare testimony from American pilots underscores the powerful alliance and shared values between Israel and its allies—particularly the United States. In moments of crisis, that bond is not just diplomatic—it is life-saving.
