At a recent United Nations Security Council meeting on “The Situation of Children in Gaza,” Israeli UN Ambassador Danny Danon strongly condemned Hamas for exploiting civilians and children as human shields and criticized the Council’s double standards in ignoring the suffering of Israeli children impacted by terrorism.
Highlighting the story of Kfir Bibas, an infant kidnapped with his family during the October 7 massacre, Danon emphasized the lack of updates on their condition. He held up their story as a tragic symbol of Hamas’s inhumanity, stating: “Hamas, not Israel, has turned Gaza into a war zone.”
King Solomon condemned dishonesty and double standards. “Differing weights and differing measures— the Lord detests them both.” – Proverbs 20:10. Danon called out Hamas for using children as shields and lamented the global community’s failure to address their inhuman actions.
Watch Danon’s Speech in English:
Calling on the Council to act decisively against Hamas, Danon asked, “When will you do something effective against Hamas to change the future for children worldwide?” He also condemned the Council’s silence on the suffering of Israeli children, saying: “Why haven’t you held a discussion on the situation of children in Israel? Children who suffer from ongoing terrorism. You are blind to their pain and their tears.”
Danon’s speech urged the global community to confront Hamas’s use of terror infrastructure in civilian areas, such as schools and hospitals, and demanded accountability.
