Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with President Donald Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, to discuss the ongoing ceasefire agreement with Hamas and the return of hostages. This meeting comes as Trump increases his direct involvement in Israel’s security and the broader Middle East negotiations.
Witkoff arrived in Israel on Tuesday, where he toured the Netzarim enclave and the Philadelphi Corridor, marking a historic moment as no senior American official has visited Gaza in years. Accompanied by Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, Witkoff assessed the security conditions and the implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. According to Witkoff, “The critical stage now is ensuring that the agreement is fully implemented so that we can move forward to the next phases, including the return of the deceased hostage remains.”

During his visit, Witkoff is also expected to meet with hostages recently freed from captivity, hearing firsthand their experiences in captivity. U.S. officials emphasized that Trump is fully engaged in the process and determined to ensure the full implementation of the ceasefire while safeguarding Israel’s security interests.
“We Can Move on to the Next Stage of the Deal”
Speaking to Fox News earlier this week, Witkoff stressed the complexity of enforcing the ceasefire: “Implementing the agreement will likely be more challenging than finalizing the deal itself. But if we succeed, we can move to the next phase, which includes the return of many bodies. This is what President Trump wants, and we will make sure it happens.”
The U.S.-Israel alliance is growing stronger as Trump’s administration works with Israeli leaders to hold Hamas accountable for the release of more hostages and stabilize the region. With high-level diplomatic efforts, both nations remain united in their hope for further breakthroughs in the days ahead.
As supporters of Israel, we yearn for the days when the words of the prophet will be fulfilled. “He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.” – Isaiah 2:4. This promise of peace reminds us that while we work toward security and justice today, our ultimate hope lies in God’s plan for lasting reconciliation and restoration.
