Forces of the 36th Division destroyed an underground route over two kilometers long. Inside the strategic compound, built over two decades with Iranian funding, dozens of rockets, missiles, UAVs, anti-tank missiles, and hundreds of mines were located, alongside command centers and living quarters for the ‘Badr’ unit.
The defense establishment clarifies that this was a strategic infrastructure built over about 20 years with Iranian funding and intended for the conquest of the Galilee. IDF forces will remain in the security zone to prevent the enemy’s return.
Hamed, released in the ‘Shalit deal’, was one of the planners and perpetrators of the 2003 shooting attack in Ein Yabrud in which three IDF soldiers fell, and over the years led a series of attacks and the recruitment of terror infrastructure in Judea and Samaria.
The defense establishment notes that Anqayou planned to carry out a shooting attack imminently. The IDF emphasized that its forces will continue to operate proactively and offensively to thwart terrorism and bring the terrorists to justice.
The Foreign Ministry welcomes the move and assesses that the removal of the restrictions will pave the way for the return of delegations, businesspeople, and tourists from Japan, and will advance economic and political cooperation between the two countries.
