Iran ‘Apocalyptic War’ Warning Targets U.S. and Israel

The IRGC says another U.S.-Israeli campaign could become an “apocalyptic war” affecting the wider Middle East as tensions with Tehran continue rising

An Iran apocalyptic war warning issued Saturday portrayed the confrontation with the United States and Israel as a struggle that could reshape the entire Middle East. IRGC spokesman Brig. Gen. Hossein Mohebbi warned that another major U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran could spread beyond the country’s borders and influence the fate of neighboring states.

According to Iran’s state-run Press TV, Mohebbi said Tehran expects “absolute victory” in what he called an “apocalyptic war.” He argued that the confrontation extends beyond missiles and military operations into questions of Iranian identity, religion, culture and civilization. The claims reflect Tehran’s own framing of the conflict and are not independent assessments of the war’s likely outcome.

Proverbs 21:31 says, “The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.” Iran’s military leadership is emphasizing weapons, national mobilization and civilizational survival. Yet the verse draws a distinction between preparing for conflict and believing military power alone determines history.

Iran Apocalyptic War Warning Broadens the Conflict

“Preserving the country’s territorial integrity and safeguarding its national and religious identity are among the most important responsibilities of the Iranian nation today,” Mohebbi said. He accused the United States and Israel of seeking to weaken Iran by eroding its identity, culture and political model.

The remarks continue a series of increasingly severe threats from the IRGC. Earlier this week, Mohebbi warned that attacks on Iranian energy infrastructure could turn Israel into “scorched earth” and drive Israelis toward the Sinai Peninsula. Last month, he said another American attack would cause Iran to expand the “geography of the war,” use new weapons and strike targets it had not previously attacked.

Those statements matter because Tehran is presenting any renewed confrontation as something larger than a limited military exchange. The message is designed to deter Washington and Jerusalem by suggesting that another round could threaten American bases, Israeli cities, Gulf infrastructure and regional stability simultaneously.

Trump Says the Confrontation Will End Soon

The warning came shortly after President Donald Trump again predicted that the struggle with Iran would soon reach a decisive conclusion. Speaking Thursday in Sioux City, Iowa, Trump said, “We’re gonna have Iran finished very soon, one way or the other,” and predicted that gasoline and oil prices would then fall.

That message was examined in “Trump Iran Warning: ‘Finished Very Soon’,” where Trump linked ending the Iran confrontation to both nuclear security and relief from high energy prices. His latest rhetoric stands in direct contrast with Tehran’s: Washington is speaking about ending the conflict, while the IRGC is warning that another major campaign could widen it dramatically.

The strategic stakes reach both Israel and the United States. Israel faces Iran’s missile forces, nuclear ambitions and network of armed proxies as direct national-security threats. Washington, meanwhile, has military personnel, bases, allies and commercial interests throughout a region Tehran has repeatedly threatened to draw into the confrontation.

Energy markets also give the conflict global consequences. Continued instability around the Strait of Hormuz and threats against Gulf infrastructure have kept oil prices elevated, making Iranian military threats relevant not only to Israeli security but to American households and the wider global economy.

Deterrence, Covenant and National Survival

Israel’s covenantal mission before God places the defense of Jewish life and sovereignty at the center of national responsibility. Iranian leaders have repeatedly threatened the Jewish state, which means Jerusalem cannot treat declarations of regional war as empty political theater even when Tehran’s claims are exaggerated or propagandistic.

America’s covenantal tradition developed through a different history, centered on liberty, constitutional government and the defense of the nation and its allies. Iran’s threats against American bases, regional partners and global energy routes therefore test Washington’s ability to deter aggression without allowing Tehran to dictate the strategic order of the Middle East.

Mohebbi’s latest speech shows how Iran wants the next phase understood: not as another isolated exchange of strikes, but as a struggle over the region’s future. Whether Tehran possesses the power to deliver on that sweeping rhetoric is a separate question. The threat itself, however, makes clear why Israel and the United States are treating the confrontation as far more than a dispute over one nuclear facility or one battlefield.
