Chief of Staff Awards Certificate to Master Sergeant V., an 8200 NCO Who Warned of Hamas Before Oct. 7 Massacre
The IDF’s Senior Command Staff conference was held earlier today at the Glilot base, headed by the Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, and attended by commanders from all commands, branches, and directorates. The conference opened with a moment of silence in memory of those who fell in the October 7 massacre.
The Chief of Staff noted at the conference that, “It was important for me to invite Master Sergeant V. here. V. is a clear example of intellectual courage and professionalism. In our organizational culture, we must not allow obsequious discourse, intellectual tyranny, or the suppression of critical thinking. As commanders, we must ensure that we demand freedom of expression from our people as a vital component of our operational culture and our frameworks. The entire IDF is in a state of constant readiness. We are all on guard. It is our duty to prevent a surprise and to prepare for a surprise.”
