Attorney General on draft year summary: Rise in Haredi enlistment, but criminal enforcement is insufficient
The Attorney General noted that during the past year, 4,298 Haredi draftees were registered in 2025, an increase from 2,811 the previous year.
Additionally, the document noted that approximately 60,217 individuals eligible for service were declared draft evaders (about 50,000 of them Haredim), and approximately 41,000 arrest warrants were issued. The document clarified that “criminal enforcement is insufficient” and that it is necessary to increase proactive arrests and develop civil-economic enforcement measures, including the revocation of benefits, to reduce the inequality in sharing the burden.
