Diplomatic Achievement: Colombia Recognizes Israeli Sovereignty Over Golan Heights
The government of Colombia announced that “in light of the ongoing regional instability in the Middle East, and considering the strategic importance of the Golan Heights to Israel’s security, the government of Colombia recognizes Israel’s sovereignty over this territory.”
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated in response: “I thank Colombia and my good friend, President of Colombia Abelardo de la Espriella, for his historic decision. I will continue to work so that more countries join the United States and Colombia in recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan.”
